My name is Bruce.  I’m a fun loving 2 year old Basset Hound.  I love to play hard and long with other fun dogs. I don’t understand what to do with grumpy dogs.  How can you be grumpy when a dogs life is so great?  I’m a hound dog so I’m vocal. I like to talk when I play, when I run, and sometimes when I watch you eat and think you don’t see me.  You will know that I’m just playing when I howl because my tail is going full speed. I’m very curious and my nose lets me find all type of things to explore. I love food and cant help myself from tasting everything.  I once took a pizza off the counter. It smelled so good that I couldn’t help myself.  My foster Dad is still wondering how I got it off the counter but I will never tell.  I’m a hound and I can be a stubborn.  I want to make you happy but sometimes I cant help myself when what I want feels or taste so good.  For example I’m not allowed to sleep on the sofa. I have a big plush bed on the floor but the sofa feels so good.  My foster dad walked in and out of the room 10 times last night and he would catch me on the sofa.  When I would see he was looking at me I would go back to my bed.  When he walked out I would jump back on the sofa and try to catch some rest but he would come back too soon and it would start all over.  I’m not being a bad dog.  I just want what I want.  I need a person with a lot patience, understands I’m a hound, and will coach me with consistency and only love and support. Negative corrections will only push me away and drive me to be sneaky or destructive.   I’m curious so I’m always looking for something to play with. If you give me a bunch of fun chew toys I will switch back and forth entertaining myself.  I’m still young and I have a lot of energy so I need exercise.  After I play or exercise you will find me sleeping with a big smile on my face.  My Foster Dad thinks I’m beautiful and knows I’m going to be an outstanding calm Basset in a few years.  I just need someone who will love me and work with me with love in their heart.  Are you up for loving me?
